Commercially available indole-2-carboxylic acid 200 (1.61 g, 10 mmol) and concentrated H2SO4 (0.5 mL) were refluxed in dry MeOH (50 mL) for 12 hours. The solution was then cooled to room temperature and concentrated under reduced pressure. Water (25 mL) was added to the residue and adjusted the pH to 7. EPO
