Synthesis of diacyl disulfides
General procedure: Diacyl disulfides were synthesized using a modified procedure from the corresponding thioacids.2 Briefly, the thioacid (2 mmol) was dissolved in EtOH (20 ml). To this solution iodine (2 mmol) was added at room temperature. The reaction was stirred under room temperature for 12 hours. EtOH was removed under reduced pressure and ethyl acetate was added into the residue. The mixture was then washed by 10% Na2CO3,brine, dried w/MgSO4, then subjected to flash chromatography to afford the product.
