1,2-Dioleoyl-
sn-glycero-3-PG (DOPG) is a phospholipid containing the long-chain (18:1) fatty acid oleic acid inserted at the
sn-1 and
sn-2 positions. It can be used in the generation of micelles, liposomes, and other artificial membranes.
Verwenden
1,2-Dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-rac-(1-glycerol) is an analog of 1,2-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-rac-(1-glycerol) (D525495) which forms lipid bilayers. In the high temperature phase, the conformation of the chains is liquid-like. In the low temperature phases, the chains are stiff and parallel and they interdigitate.

Phosphoglyceride (PG) are also referred as glycerophospholipid. It is an important component of membranebilayers. It has three-carbon backbone of glycerol, two long-chainfatty acids,esterified tohydroxyl groups on carbons 1 and 2 of the glycerol andphosphoric acidesterified to the C3hydroxyl group of glycerol. It is found at high levels in the membranes of all cells and at low levels in fat stores. 1,2-dioleoyl-
sn-glycero-3-phospho-(1′-rac-glycerol) (DOPG)/18:1 (Δ9-Cis) PGhas two hydroxyl groups in its head group. It is an anionic lipid.
