Uses
Naphthol AS-BR is a substrate for the histochemical demonstration of acid and alkaline phosphatase[1].
Preparation
3,3′-Dimethoxylbenzidine and 3-Hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid condensation.
Properties and Applications
brown powder. Insoluble in water, but soluble in adjacent nitro toluene. The strong sulfuric acid in light yellow solution for brown, a green fluorescent; Sodium hydroxide solution for in the light yellow brown; Sodium carbonate in solution not dissolve. Melting point 348 ℃, the air is stable. This product is dyed brown render agent, mainly used for dyeing cotton, PVAand viscose, general is not used for printing. Coloring phenol AS-BR render, for red light brown, and reduction brown BR similar. This product to cotton affinity is higher, the pH of the coupling according to the color of the base may be. Dip, improve the temperature can increase the render color quantity.
