Chemical Properties
CLEAR COLOURLESS TO LIGHT YELLOW LIQUID
Uses
Aminoacetaldehyde diethyl acetal, is used as an agrochemical intermediate, pharmaceutical, syntheses material intermediate.
Synthesis
There are two main methods of synthesizing aminoacetaldehyde diethyl acetal as follows:
(1) 2-(2-azidoethyl)-1,3-dioxolane is generated from 2-(2-azidoethyl)-1,3-dioxolane by refluxing 2-(2-azidoethyl)-1,3-dioxolane with sodium azide over a phase transfer catalyst, which is further reacted with triphenylphosphine/water, but the NaN3 compounds are highly poisonous and explosive, which is not conducive to industrialized production.
(2) 2-(2-bromoethyl)-1,3-dioxolane is obtained by ion exchange with a macroporous quaternary ammonium Amberlite resin ( AmberliteIRA 900) that has been attached to a negative nitrite ion to obtain 2-(2-nitrosoethyl)-1,3-dioxolane, which is then catalyzed by platinum oxidation to obtain aminoglycolaldehyde diethyl acetal by platinum oxidation catalyst, which has a low yield.
