14.4 grams of 4-amino-5-imidazolecarboxamide (monohydrate) and 17.4 grams of orotic acid (monohydrate) were dissolved with heating in 600 cc of water. The solution is decolorized with Norit, cooled and then filtered off. 28.8 grams of a white crystalline salt (dihydrate) is obtained with MP 284°C (decomposition).Therapeutic Function
