Vardenafil hydrochloride is a drug for the treatment of male erectile dysfunction, which is the first-line treatment of erectile dysfunction. It was successfully developed by Bayer company of Germany and first listed in the United States in 2002. Like sildenafil, it belongs to the second generation of type 5 phosphodiesterase inhibitor, which takes effect very quickly, about 15 ~ 20 minutes. The effect is ten times stronger than sildenafil. Clinical data show that 50% to 60% of men with diabetes over the age of 50 suffer from erectile dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction caused by injury of nerve and blood vessels caused by diabetes is particularly difficult to treat. Bayer's potent selective phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, thinning, is likely to bring good news to those with diabetes induced erectile dysfunction. As one-time therapeutic drugs, after oral administration about 1 hour before sexual life, these drugs can selectively inhibit the effect of PDE5, block the degradation of cGMP induced by nitric oxide (no) released after sexual stimulation, relax arterial vascular smooth muscle, enhance erectile function, and occasionally have adverse reactions such as headache, blushing, stomach discomfort and color vision disorder.
