2.2 General procedure for the synthesis of N-arylcyanothioformamides (arylcarbamothioylcyanides) (3).
General procedure: To a stirred solution of N-(4-chloro-5H-1,2,3-dithiazol-5-ylidene)-aniline 2 (2.0 mmol) in dry CH2Cl2 (10mL) was added DBU (0.896 mL, 6.0 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred under argon at roomtemperature for 15 min after which NaHSO4 1M (10 mL) was added. The resulting emulsion wasextracted with CH2Cl2. The organic phase was washed with brine, dried over MgSO4 and concentratedunder reduced pressure. The crude product was purified on silica gel with PE/CH2Cl2 (50:50 to 0:100,v/v) as eluent to afford the desired product.
