EXAMPLE 10 Iododecarboxylation of arylcarboxylic acids [00234] A mixture of ArC02H (1 mmol), N-iodoamide, and solvent (5 mL) was refluxed (A) under irradiation with 250 W tungsten lamp (hv). The cold reaction mixture was washed with 1 M aq Na2S03 (2 x 5 mL), dried over Na2S04, filtered and concentrated in vacuo to obtain crude iodoarene Ar-I. The crude product was purified by chromatography on silica gel (eluent hexane/DCM 100:0 to 0:100). The results are presented in Table 17.
