EXAMPLE 18A 2-chloro-N-(2-methylphenyl)acetamide The procedure described in Example 16A was followed, substituting 2-methylaniline for 3,5-dimethylaniline to provide the title compound (90% yield) as a white solid. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ2.20 (s, 3H), 4.30 (s, 2H), 7.16 (m, 3H), 7.38 (d, 1H, J=7.8 Hz), 9.63 (br s, 1H); MS (DCI/NH3) m/e 184 (M+H)+.
