Example 14 (2-Amino-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophen-3-yl)-benzofuran-2-yl-methanone The procedure of Example 1 was followed except that benzofuran-2-yl methyl ketone (prepared according to the procedure of Farrar and Levine (1950), J. Amer. Chem. Soc., 72: 4433-4436) was used in place of acetophenone to prepare the corresponding 2-(benzofuran-2-carbonyl)acetonitrile (Steps A and B).
