2.8. Phenylsulfonylation (Procedure H)
General procedure: To a solution of alcohol in DCM was added SOCl2 (1.5 equiv) dropwise at 0 °C. After being stirred for 30 min, the mixture was evaporated to remove excess amount of SOCl2 and directly used for the next step. NaSO2Ph was added to the crude compound in DMF at 0 °C and the mixture was warmed to room temperature. After being stirred for overnight, the mixture was extracted with EtOAc, dried over MgSO4, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel to afford the corresponding phenylsulfonyl product.
