General procedure: Procedure A: To a degassed stirred solution of MOB 1a (1.0 equiv), phenyl acetylene(2.0 equiv) in THF under N2 atmosphere was added CuI (0.1 equiv), PdCl2(PPh3)2 (0.05 equiv), DIPEA (3.0 equiv). The resultingreaction mixture was stirred for 1 h at room temperature (during this time TLC indicated the disappearance of starting material). Thecrude reaction mixture was purified by column chromatography (EtOAc in hexanes, 0 - 25%) to give Sonogashira coupling product.
