Reaction Conditions:
Stage #1:2-Mercaptobenzothiazole with potassium carbonate in tetrahydrofuran for 0.166667 h;Inert atmosphere;
Stage #2:3-Bromopropionic acid in tetrahydrofuran at 20;Inert atmosphere;
Steps:
Compound 3 was obtained in quantitative yield as an off-whitesolid. 2-Marcaptobenzothiazol (670 mg) was dissolved in THF(10 mL), potassium carbonate (1.1 g) was added, and the reaction wasstirred for 10 min under argon. Then 3-bromoproponic acid (910 mg)was added. The reaction was allowed to stir overnight at room temperatureunder argon. The reaction was neutralized with 2 M HCl and theproduct was extracted with DCM.
