Typical example of the procedure
General procedure: To an ice-cold solution of 3c (44 mg, 0.167 mmol) in EtOH (1.7 mL) was added AcCl (0.12 mL, 1.69 mmol) dropwise. The solution was stirred at room temperature for 10 min and then at 50 °C for 1 h, and diluted with saturated NaHCO3. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc, and the crude product was purified by chromatography (hexane/EtOAc) to furnish 5A (19 mg, 80%).
