Steps:
1 1. Preparation of p-methoxyphenylacetic acid
The methoxybenzene Acetonitrile (60.0g, 408mmol), sodium hydroxide (80.0g, 2.0mol) Water (300ml) was added a solution of 60ml of ethanol and the reaction flask, the reaction was heated to reflux. After completion of the reaction the pH was adjusted to acidic, add water and stir crystallization, filtration, washed with water and dried to give a yellowish white solid p-methoxy phenylacetic acid 59.0g, a yield of 87.1%.
