In a reaction flask, methyl 1, 3-dimethyl-2, 4-dioxo-1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carboxylate (500 mg, 2.5 mmol) was dissolved in methanol (6 ml) and water (1.5 ml) , and NaOH (200 mg, 5 mmol) was added, the reaction solution was reacted at room temperature for 3 hours. The reaction solution was revolved to remove methanol, and neutralized with 1N hydrochloric acid to pH = 3, the solid was precipitated, filtered, dried, to obtain 300 mg of a white solid. MS (m/z) : 185 [M+H]+.
