Degassed solution of 5-bromopentanoic acid (1 eq., 2.85 g, 15.7 mmol) and SOCl2 (1 eq., 1.87 g, 1.14 mL, 15.7 mmol) in dichloromethane DCM (50 mL) was refluxed for 3h.
Obtained reaction mass was evaporated under reduced pressure to give 11 (3.11 g, 100%) as a yellowish oil.
The crude product was used in the next step without purification.
