Intermediate 199.5-methoxy-1 ,3-benzoxazol-2(3H)-one
A mixture of 2-amino-4-methoxyphenol (Intermediate 198; 4.8g, 0.027mo1) and urea (2.65g, 0.044mo1) was heated at 180°C during 2 hours. Hydrogen chloride iN (7OmL) was poured into the mixture and the crude was extracted with Ethyl Acetate, the organic layer was washed with water and brine, dried, filtered and the solvent was removed under reduced pressure giving the title compound as a solid (4.5g, 99%).LRMS (mlz): 166 (M+1)+
