A. (IsocyanatomethyOcyclohexane.; Cyclohexylacetic acid (1.5 g, 10.54 mmol) and N-methylmorpholine (1.06 g, 10.54 mmol) were dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (30 mL) and cooled to -10 0C. Ethyl chloroformate (1.25 g, 11.60 mmol) was added dropwise and stirred at -10 0C. Sodium azide (1.02 g, 15.85 mmol) was then added and allowed to stir for an additional 30 min. The solution was then diluted with dichloromethane, partitioned with water, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered and solvent removed under reduced pressure. The resulting oil was purified using Biotage chromatography (0-20% EtOAc in hexanes) to afford the title compound (0.450 g, 26%).
