General procedure: A mixture of alkynes 1 (0.5mmol), 2 (0.6mmol), Mn(OAc)3 (23mg, 20mol%), LiBr (10mol%), 1,10-phen (10mol%) in DMSO under 1atm oxygen atmosphere in a test tube (15mL) equipped with a magnetic stirring bar. The mixture was stirred at 80°C for given time. After the reaction was completed, 10mL ethyl acetate (3×10mL) was added into the tube. The combined organic layers were washed with brine to neutral, dried over MgSO4, and concentrated in vacuum. Purification of the residue on a preparative TLC afforded the desired products.
