Intermediate 15: 3-Ethyl-5-formyl- V V-dimethyl-4H-l,2,4-triazole-4-sulfonamide Step a: propionamide[0489] A mixture of propionyl chloride (5.0 ml, 57.5 mmol) and NH3.H2O (80.0 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 0.5 h. The mixture was concentrated and the residue was treated with ethanol and filtered. The filtrate was concentrated to afford 3.44 g of the title compound (87% yield).
