Distilling the second reaction liquid to collect a fraction of 83 ° C to 90 ° C,40.4 g of t-butyl isocyanate were obtained.
The purity of the tert-butyl isocyanate was 98.3% and the yield was 80%.
A mixture of 582 g of rectified residual material xylene and p-toluenesulfonamide was recycled.
