Preparation of Thiamine Chloride:
About one molar equivalent of thiamine chloride hydrochloride dissolved in water was mixed with one molar equivalent of sodium hydroxide and the resulting thiamine chloride was crystallized by addition of acetone to the aqueous solution.
The thiamine chloride so obtained was purified by recrystallization from water-acetone mixture.
