Preparation of 4- [4- (N- (3-chloro- (2R) -2-hydroxy-1 -propyl) amino) phenyl] morpholin-3-one In a 500 mL reaction flask, 4- (aminophenyl) -3-morpholinone (36. 5 g, 0.19 mol) and R-epichlorohydrin (18.5 g, 0.2 mol) was heated in 300 mL of ethanol to reflux for 12 hours. After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure The organic layer was washed with 100 mL of saturated aqueous sodium chloride, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The organic layer was washed with water and extracted with ethyl acetate Concentrated to dryness and dried to give 4- [4- (N- (3-chloro- (2R)-2-hydroxy-1-propyl)amino)phenyl] (5 L 4 g), 95% yield, 98% purity.
