A suspension of phen diol (3.30 g, 9.05 mmol, 2.5 eq.) and Cs2CO3 (1.73 g, 5.30 mmol, 1.5 eq.) was prepared in 250 mL DMF in a 500 mL RB flask and was heated to 60° C. while stirring under N2.
