A 1:1 ratio of EO to piperazine-carbamate was mixed and added to a 50 ml hydrothermal reaction crystallization reactor. 0.15% by mole of ZnBr2 (ie, the mole percent of the total system) was added to the reactor. A magnetic stirrer was used to control the temperature at 160 °C and the reaction time was 8.5 h. After the reaction, the mixture was naturally cooled to room temperature.The EC yield was 94.9% and the piperazine yield was 97.7%.
