EXAMPLE 10 (4S-trans)-4-(N-ethylamino)-5,6-dihydro-6-methyl-4H-thien-(2,3-b)-thiopyran-2-sulfonamide-7,7-dioxide Hydrochloride [0145] [CHEMMOL-00030] [0146] 0.55 g (0.0017 mol) of (4S-trans)-4-(N-ethylamino)-5,6-dihydro-6-methyl-4H-thien-(2,3-b)-thiopyran-2-sulfonamide-7,7-dioxide are dissolved in 25 ml of ethyl acetate, and the pH is set to 1 with hydrochloric acid. The crude product is concentrated to dryness obtaining 0.62 g (95%) of the title product with a rotary power of [α]D=-8.3° (c=1, methanol).
