2.1.2. Synthesis of compounds 2-4
General procedure: A mixture of 1-bromoalkane (0.10 mol) and dimethylamine (33%aqueous solution, 0.50 mol, 5 equiv) in ethanol (40 mL) was added to a dried 100 mL 2-necked flask. The solution was heated at 80 °C for 24 h. After the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature, the solvent was removed under vacuum, and the residue was poured into the saturated sodium bicarbonate solution (60 mL). The mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate, and the extract phase was dried with anhydrous magnesium sulfate. The solvent was removed by distillation under reduced pressure and the solid residue was purified by distillation to give compounds 2-4 as colorless oily products.
