Weighed 127 g of intermediate p-toluenesulfonic acid-2,2,2-trifluoroethyl ester, 32.5 g of sodium methoxide and 100 ml of methanol in a 500 mL three-necked flask equipped with magnetic stirring and a thermometer, and stirred at 20 ° C. After 4 hours, the progress of the reaction was monitored by gas chromatography. After the reaction was completed, the stirring was stopped, and the reaction liquid was rectified to obtain 50 g of the desired product 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methyl ether. The purity was 99.8%, and the yield was 88.6%.
