Steps:

1-4 Example 4. Preparation of iohexol intermediate

300kg of dimethyl 5-nitroisophthalate, 240kg of 3-amino-1,2-propanediol, 10kg of sodium methoxide and 240kg of methanol were added to the 2000L glass-lined reactor, and the temperature was controlled at 30 to 40°C for 2-3 hours. Add 1300kg of water, adjust the pH of the solution to 5-6 with dilute sulfuric acid, add 135kg of SnCl₂.2H₂O was dissolved in dilute sulfuric acid and added dropwise, and the temperature was controlled at 50 to 60 °C for 2 hours, and then transferred to a 2500L high-level tank.Add 1080kg of iodine and 170kg of potassium iodate to a 5000L glass-lined reaction kettle, heat up to 60°C and stir for 3h, add the reduction filtrate dropwise at a temperature of 50-60°C, keep the reaction for 16h, and dropwise add 20% sodium hydroxide solution to adjust the temperature. The pH is 5 to 6, and the distilled iodine-containing water is recovered under reduced pressure until the effluent is colorless.Cool down at 010, keep warm for 13h, and rinse with three-in-one.The filter cake was dried under reduced pressure at 70-80° C. for 10-20 hours to obtain 849.1 kg of iohexol intermediate compound 2 with a yield of 96.1% and a purity of 99.54%
